Mr. Peter Connolly, UK Interim Advocate in Vietnam expressed that the UK has a long tradition of a free and open media. That freedom comes with responsibility. The Vietnamese press is developing very quickly with the economy. Some newspapers make a turnover of many millions of dollars a year and have a great and positive influence on readers and government decisions. However, there are more and more press lawsuits that infringe on the honor, dignity, prestige, and posting of false information of individuals and organizations. Sharing British experiences will help Vietnam manage and develop a healthy, responsible journalism and protect the honor, prestige and dignity of individuals and organizations effectively.
