On May 4, 2017, Ms. Tran Le Thuy, Director of MDI, delivered a speech on international journalism law at the Conference on Human Rights, Ministry of Information and Communications. Her talk covered basic concepts and foundations of journalism law around the world, such as the right to immunities of journalists, the right to the public interest, the right to free comment, and legal provisions on infringes on reputation and privacy.
Attending the seminar were representatives of press agencies, Foreign Information Bureau, Standing Office of the Human Rights Steering Committee, State Committee of Overseas Vietnamese and Department of Broadcasting. The seminar was chaired by Mr. Hoang Vinh Bao, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication.
